Open Water Diver Course Process
Welcome! Read through this email as it will answer the majority of your questions about the process! Additional Questions should directed to BLS, not OMCS, as the store does not have any control of the process once we take it.

Soon we begin your explorations of a new world! If you already paid, you begin this process by logging into www.tdisdi.com And clicking on e-learning, and entering your registered. If you need to pay, remit payment via Paypal, venmo, or drop off/ arrange deposit as soon as possible. (check, money order, or cash paid at the One More Chance Scuba store are also fine). There is also link on the bluelinescuba.com webpage to our paypal if you need it.

Costs: Cost for the course is all inclusive for the e-learning, pool and two quarry visits. Air fills and rental gear costs are also included. This cost also includes the $25 a day fee to dive the quarry for two days (total $50 for the two days)- So there are no "additional" fees, taxes or hidden costs. We do not have surprise “fees”. We do not make anything off the Quarry fees either! It goes directly to the owner. Please note that in the event a third or fourth quarry day is required to complete your dives, you will be responsible for the additional $25 per extra day. This is a rare occurrence. Weather cancellations will be made up as soon as possible. We cannot control the weather and must err on the side of caution. You will not be charged quarry fees for cancellations. No refunds are available once e-learning is purchased.
Equipment included in the course fee: Training bcd's, weights, regulators, SMB’s, cutting devices, air cylinders, air fills, and computers are provided for use during the course and part of the fee (no extra fees or surprise charges to use this gear).

You will need the following personal gear: Mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and booties. If you have your own regulators or bcd, bring it! You should train in your stuff if you have it. One More Chance Scuba, phone: (843) 573-7573, 2408 Ashley River Road, suite I, Charleston SC has the best prices anywhere. Look for the scuba flag!! He beats everyone including Amazon! I would tell you that even if I was not one of his go-to instructors.

Once you purchase your class and your personal gear, the process truly begins:

Basic Open Water Plan:
-
Online E-learning: You have 72 hours to log in and sign up on the code once it is issued or it may be re-assigned and you would have to purchase another code. Save the money and the aggravation PLEASE. The e-learning takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete, but it saves your progress and you can walk away and come back at your leisure. Bring the missed questions (also known as “Form 3: Student Report") to the pool session so we can go over it. Once on the TDISDI.com website, you will be walked through a registration process and then can begin your scuba adventure with your e-learning class by clicking on e-learning. Take the opportunity while creating your profile to upload the picture you want on your c-card! Once you receive your e-learning code, it is imperative that you log in as soon as possible with your email address and into e-learning so the code is assigned to you. Just log into it to save the code to your profile by opening the first chapter! Note: Website and password issues must be addressed to SDI.
-
Form 1- Medical Information: Complete the medical questionnaire available the TDISDI.com Website. NOTE: Any "yes" with an ASTERICK REQUIRES a doctor to sign off on your ability to scuba dive PRIOR to the pool day, and that form for your doctor is included with the medical questionnaire. Additional info is included on the form. This is a universal SCUBA rule and insurance requirement, not an optional thing we do to cause you grief! If you need a physical, it is usually a "sports physical" and runs from nothing to $100 depending on your insurance. This MUST BE DONE if the form shows it as a requirement and is not part of the basic fee for the course. Bring this (or these) to the pool!
-
Form 2- Liability Waiver: Complete the liability waiver form also available on the websites or attached to this email or provided by OMCS. Initial each paragraph on the left of the form in the space provided and sign at the bottom. The course is Open Water, and the instructor is Arthur Myers, Facility is Blue Line Scuba and OMCS. Bring this to the pool!
-
Form 3- Student Test Report: Once you complete the e-learning, print out and bring the results to the pool day!! We will review your student report at the pool, so remember to print out and bring the list of questions missed with you. And don't worry, everyone misses some! Bring this to the pool!
-

Directions to the sites:
New Road Quarry: 5804 New Road, Ravenel SC. Take 17 South past Hwy 165 (Hardees), New Road is the first left off 17 South after 165. It is the first thing on the left besides trees. If you cross the RR tracks, you went too far. Quarry is ¼ mile down the gravel road through the gate. Parking directly adjacent to the water. Be on time! We start early to respect your day!
